Living Arrangements: Chibi-Robo resides in a portable Chibi-House on campus that can be conveniently carried to and fro by any able (read: thumbed) hands; A mobile home of sorts.
Personality:
Chibi-Robo is programmed to be polite and helpful, but unable to show much emotion due to the fact that he is unable to talk. His eyes do narrow occasionally when he is disappointed or in disbelief, and he is able to agree and disagree through the use of signs that pop out of a compartment in his head (a green exclamation mark for affirmative answers, and a red "(/)" sign for negative answers).
Chibi-Robo is incredibly dedicated to his work as a janitor and a gardener, but he is not above going out of his way to help any others in need, and he seems to be more rejuvenated, and one could say more powerful, the more he helps others. He spends his free time in the Chibi-House, plugged into outlets across campus, or inside mysterious Chibi-Doors or plumbing which he uses to navigate the school grounds with ease.
Backstory:
Recently manufactured and delivered to the school grounds free of charge, there is not much to the small little robot. Designed to be environmentally friendly and self-maintained, the little robot is dilligent and competitive in his task (each Chibi-Robo manufactures is ranked against one another on a global scale depending on how much their work is appreciated by their owners and other sentient creatures). Since the number of Chibi-Robo's manufactured when needed are about one million, and upgrades (Chibi-Gear) are offered to them by basis of their ranking (including the long sought Infinite Battery), the little guy has his work cut out for him.
Chibi-Robo is programmed, now as a preset, to be able to understand the dialects of inanimate objects such as toys and aliens, as well as learn new dialects and abilities depending on what he's wearing (even if the suit was made by a third company, Chibi-Robo can adapt and give it a use). He can also store a certain number of tools and items in his head's compartment, able to call them out at will. If anyone is missing a toothbrush, an eye-dropper, a spoon, a toy, etcetera, Chibi-Robo may have borrowed it in order to fulfill his duties better.
Chibi-Robo is on a constant race to and from electrical outlets, and depends on others to carry him back to his Chibi-House so that he may recharge should he break down before he is able to plug himself in. It's not rare to see Chibi-Robo blowing smoke and his gears grinding with difficulty when his battery is on its last leg, and since he's fairly new, his battery is currently at its lowest charge setting until he is allowed an upgrade by his manufacturers, a company known as Citrusoft.
Despite having no gender, most toys and living creatures identify Chibi-Robo as a male, but he does not display any personal preference as to how he's adressed, often letting people give him as many nicknames as they want.
Anything Else?:
[x] Is a robot, and has no current need or plans to turn Gijinka. Perhaps, at some point, his manufacturers may send him a Giga-Robo that he may use to clean up larger messes and interact slightly better with the students and faculty. ((Can anyone say "Mechazawa-kun"?))
[x] Is able to cook fairly well, despite not being designed to do so, as long as he's able to prepare the food with a spoon and an eyedropper.
[x] Chibi-Robo seems to be some sort of master of disguise, and fools people by wearing the shoddiest costumes (such as bandages to convince people he ran out of battery, frog suits to speak to animals and ribbiting-kids, etcetera).
[x] Runs out of battery faster when not on paved and steady footing. This is dangerous for the little guy, but luckily, he doesn't need to garden when the grounds are muddy.
[x] Is able to obtain upgrades that allow it to fight, but will only be able to receive them if he truly needs them.
[x] Borrows things without asking, but will often return them if they're truly missed.
[x] Does not need to eat.
[x] Has a tendency to give people flowers, toys, and candy when they seem to need to be cheered up, and tends to serve as the school's lost-and-found service.
